When students begin their studies at KTH, they are greeted by something called “mottagningen” (orientation activities). It consists of a large number of organised activities and events for all new students, taking place during their first two weeks on campus.
The activities are aimed at introducing the new students to their university studies, as well as providing an opportunity for the new students to get to know each other and older students within the same course of study. The orientation events include studentesque parties, a variety of games and competitions and an introduction to the societies within the student body association and the physics chapter.
Many older students take part in arranging the orientation activities and most of them wear jumpsuits and other types of weird costumes as part of the activities. Due to this, there will be a lot of people in odd outfits in motion at campus during the two weeks of orientation.
If you would like to take part in orientation week or if you have any questions about it, you are always welcome to contact us. For example we organise five parties during these two weeks, and we would recommend you to take part in some of them. Send an email to mottagningen@f.kth.se and we will tell you more about it.
Orientation week is a good opportunity to get to know other people who study Engineering Physics and it is one of the most appreciated events at KTH.
